High Level Design (HLD) Course โ System Design Interviews
Live online + 1-on-1 HLD training โ scalability, databases, caching, queues and real system case studies.
High Level Design is the round that decides senior offers. You are handed an open problem โ design Twitter, design Uber, design a rate limiter โ and judged on how you scope requirements, estimate scale, choose data stores, and reason about the trade-offs between consistency, availability and cost.
This track teaches that reasoning as a repeatable method: requirements and capacity estimation, API and data modelling, SQL versus NoSQL, sharding and replication, caching strategies and invalidation, load balancing, message queues and event-driven design, CDNs, consistency models, rate limiting, and how to keep a system observable and available when a component fails.
You then apply it to the case studies interviews actually use โ Twitter, Uber, YouTube, Instagram, WhatsApp, URL shorteners, notification systems โ with live whiteboard walkthroughs, mock interviews and detailed feedback. Pair it with LLD for the complete senior interview toolkit.

High Level Design (HLD) track, FAQs
What is High Level Design (HLD)?
HLD is the architecture view of a system: which services exist, how they communicate, which data stores hold what, where caches and queues sit, and how the whole thing scales and stays available. It is the design round that senior and FAANG-style interviews centre on.
What is the difference between HLD and LLD?
HLD is system-level โ services, databases, caching, sharding, load balancing, trade-offs at scale. LLD is code-level โ classes, interfaces, design patterns and the machine-coding round. Senior interviews usually test both, so most learners take the two tracks together.
Who should take the HLD course?
Engineers with roughly 2+ years of experience targeting senior roles or a move to a product company. If you can build features confidently but freeze when asked to design a system on a whiteboard, this is the gap it closes.
Which systems do you design in the course?
The ones interviews reuse: Twitter/X feeds, Uber-style location and matching, YouTube video delivery, Instagram, WhatsApp messaging, URL shorteners, rate limiters, notification systems and payment flows โ each worked end to end on a live whiteboard, with the trade-offs argued out loud.
Do you run mock system-design interviews?
Yes. Mock interviews with structured feedback are part of the track, and the 1-on-1 option is largely used for extra mock rounds against the specific companies you are targeting.
